There’s never been a better time to join the FMA!!(2)

As promised, we will be continuing our theme of Embracing Diversity In Mediation throughout the next few months, culminating in the 2025 conference. This Spring provides you with the opportunity to attend up to four free 90 minute online workshops which develop the themes from last year’s conference with our very well-received speakers, taking forward the dialogues around diversity that were begun then and will continue into this year’s conference in June. They offer you and the speakers a better chance to engage with each other in dialogue.

Our Guests in Conversation include:

Nurit is a mediator and researcher and an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Provider based in Auckland New Zealand. She completed a Master of Laws at the Auckland University Law School, specialising in mediation, with her Master’s thesis based on a qualitative research project examining how fathers experience family mediation. Alex Drummond

Alex Drummond is a mental health professional with clinical and research interests in gender identity and conditions of neurodivergence. In this workshop she will be drawing on both clinical and personal experiences of being transgender (and ADHD) and what that means for individuals and families. In recent months trans identities have become something of a political football, and there is much mis-information and media rhetoric that adversely impacts families and individuals on this sensitive subject. This is another chance to hear from a grounded, balanced and personal lived experience perspective and the aim is to demystify the topic. Importantly - and highly relevant to professionals working in the
field of marital/family breakdown - Alex will also briefly discuss the intersection of autistic and ADHD identities (which occur in much higher prevalence in the trans community) offering some clues that can
give important insight when working with trans families

Tuesday 8 April 2025 from 11.30am to 1pm
