The PPC foundation training is a two day intensive course, lecture room based with role play, debate, case discussion and assessment. The course is comprehensive, incorporating current requirements. It is stimulating and thought provoking. An essential course for the advanced training of experienced mediators.
If you would like to support fellow family mediators in their private and publicly funded practice, and are an experienced practising family mediator, you may be eligible to enter PPC foundation training. Completion of the course leads to recognition as a PPC.
Detailed areas that will be covered include
the PPC’s role in dissemination of information,
supporting development of mediator competence,
monitoring of a mediators practice, ensuring high mediator professional standards,
identifying, supporting and encouraging best practice,
considering client feedback including the PPC’s role in complaints,
reviewing audit compliance, LAA requirements,
enhancing the development of the profession.
Complementing and supporting these detailed requirements is the establishment of a professional relationship supporting and facilitating the growth of a mediator’s career and their personal development in this specialised field. The Course will develop the understanding required and provide resources to undertake this demanding role, identifying the theory, knowledge and information required in your supervision practice. This Course will help to update you on current mediation practice, from summary writing APC and FMCA through to recent changes in screening processes and complaints, and the work that the FMC are progressing on the new PPC Code of Practice and Complaints.
