This training is designed to empower mediators and legal professionals who work with couples in intense conflict, aiming to restore stability and hope where disputes have become overwhelming. The course integrates current research on systemic practices and evidence-based methods to improve mediation approaches in challenging high-conflict cases.

Participants will engage with:

  • Conflict Dynamics and Attachment Styles: An exploration of how high conflict impacts attachment styles within couples and how individual and relational mental health factors contribute to the conflict cycle.
  • Effective Intervention Skills: Practical skills for mediators to intervene constructively, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) techniques that support clients in pausing, reflecting, and making more thoughtful decisions.
  • Systemic Models for Conflict De-escalation: Insights from systemic family therapy and social constructionism will guide participants in applying models that promote de-escalation and encourage constructive, healthier interaction patterns.

The day combines lectures, video materials, role-play exercises, and case study discussions, equipping professionals with research-backed strategies to navigate and reduce high-conflict situations effectively in their work.
