This course is designed to help family mediators and legal professionals recognize and address the impact of their work on both their professional and personal well-being. Chronic exposure to stories of grief, trauma, and conflict, such as those found in divorce and separation cases, can result in vicarious trauma. This exposure can undermine a professional’s sense of safety and security, potentially leading to burnout.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of vicarious trauma, its signs, and its effects. The course also offers self-compassion techniques to help navigate emotionally challenging situations, as well as tools for recognizing and addressing vicarious trauma in colleagues.
